The good news is that it allows a wide range of motion arguably making it better than a ball hitch for off road towing on uneven terrain but each of those pivot points seems like it d be more prone to wear than a ball and coupler. The max coupler and lock and roll hitches on the other hand have a lot more weak points that could break than the pintle hitch setup but that brings me on nicely to the negatives.

My trailer is set up to use both a ball hitch and lock n roll but i use the ball hitch 90 of the time even offroad. The pintle hitch does not have full articulation which can potentially allow it to get into a bind. Anyone have suggestions for one over the other. A nice feature of them is offering versions that bolt on like normal couplers for 2 2 5 3 wide straight tongues.
